1 cucumber 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tsp Sugar Syrup , also known as monin gomme 2 Coriander leaves 50 ml Gin some cubed ice 1 knife 1 chopping board 1 blender 1 cocktail shaker 1 fine cocktail strainer 1 martini glass 1 25ml shot measure 1 50ml shot measure 1 5ml bar spoon / teaspoon 1 measuring jug some measuring spoons
Step 2 - Chilled martini glass
Either put the martini glass in the freezer, or fill it with ice, add a little water, and leave it to one side to chill.
Step 3 - Cucumber
Use your knife to finely peel half the cucumber. Leave a little of the cucumber skin on to give the drink extra flavour and a light green hue. Don't throw all of the skin away - save a little to garnish the drink.
Step 4 - Add the ingredients
Dice the cucumber and add to the blender. Add 50ml of gin Next, a couple of coriander leaves Add one teaspoon of lemon juice and one teaspoon of sugar syrup.
Step 5 - Blend
Turn on the blender and blend for 10 seconds.
Step 6 - Pour
Add the contents of the blender to the mixing glass.
Step 7 - Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes
Step 8 - Shake
Put the top half of the cocktail shaker on. Slap it down firmly to seal. Hold the top and bottom, and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds. Handy Hint When there is condensation on the outside of the shaker and it feels very cold, then it's mixed.
Step 9 - Release
Tap the side of the shaker to loosen the two halves. Release the top by rocking it back and forth.
Step 10 - Double Strain
Open up the shaker and use the cocktail strainer and the fine strainer over the martini glass. Tap the fine strainer to encourage the drink through.
Step 11 - Garnish
Add a little of the left over cucumber skin to garnish. Serve
