Waterford and Cork may no longer be competing in the Guinness All-Ireland Hurling Championship but that won't stop Dan Shannahan and Joe Deane hurling from the top of Dublin’s Grafton Street. Guinness has unveiled a highly innovative hurling hologram featuring Waterford's Dan Shanahan and Cork's Joe Deane which went live inside the Stephen's Green Shopping Centre in Dublin recently. It and will run up until the All-Ireland Hurling final on Sunday 2nd September.
The hologram uses technology never before used in Ireland. Pamela Selby, Brand Manager for Guinness, explained, "Guinness has always strived to market the All-Ireland Hurling Championship using the latest technology and original media formats in order to raise the profile of the game and engage hurling fans. The hologram is dramatic and attention-grabbing and is sure to capture the imagination of the public".
Emer McHugh, Director of Initiative Media, the company behind the hologram, said, "The hologram offers a perfect platform to bring this year's Guinness Hurling campaign to life. “Not only can we connect with our consumers in a new and dynamic manner, the hologram will also create an additional buzz around Dublin city centre in the lead-up to the All-Ireland Hurling final".
