| Kopparberg Sales up 400% |

Richmond Marketing, the brand developers behind Kopparberg Pear Cider, report encouraging feedback from licensees. Kopparberg experienced 400 per cent growth last year, generating sales of €4.8 million through the on-trade alone, according to the company. Richmond only began marketing Kopparberg in June last year when it became available in a small number of pubs and off-licences. It’s now availabale in 1,000 bars and pubs nationwide. The on-trade channel accounts for 70 per cent of sales. Targeted at the ‘under-26’ market, Kopparberg’s marketing stategy consists of tasting and education sessions in trendy bars and cafés to win over the barstaff and first legion of consumers while Point Of Sale material is sited to communicate the product’s unique, pure and natural ingredients. “With its authentic Swedish heritage and artisan packaging, Kopparberg shot off shelves with the merest of nudges from ourselves”, said Barry Connolly, Director of Richmond Marketing. Barry believes that Kopparberg will introduce new drinkers to the Irish Cider market which is growing at eight per cent. |
