To assist with your ordering it is a great help to have a master price list in place. This consists of a simple spreadsheet which lists all of your products, the unit of measurement, the cost per unit and most importantly, the price per unit which you have agreed to pay.
By having this master price list on-hand it only takes a glance to ensure that your agreed prices are being adhered to. It is an unfortunate fact that prices on the delivery dockets are often not the agreed price, so it is important that this is monitored carefully. Mistakes do happen and your suppliers are only human but sometimes prices are raised or a clerical error occurs and it will not be corrected unless YOU notice the discrepancy and make it clear to your supplier that this is not acceptable.
